Clay Target Shooting
A thriving RPGS Shooting Section meets on a monthly basis at County Clays Shooting Ground at Dunkeld. Clark Taylor and his team prepare five or six stands for a 50 bird sporting and after the important safety briefing we are taken around the course. All standards are welcome which, because of the handicapping system in place, means all members can compete for the Mitchell Salver based on the four best scores achieved during the season with handicaps added over a 12 month period. The more experienced shots compete for the Ross Cartridge, based on four best raw scores over the same 12 month period. The shoot is conducted in fine spirit with some good natured banter from some! After the competitive shoot is over teams of four shoot at the high pheasant and grouse stand in a flush which is always good fun.
RPGS also have an annual match against the New Club for the Queensferry Crossing Trophy. RPGS are the present holders.
As safety is paramount It is recommended that beginners take initial lessons from Clark and his team prior to participation.
