Our Club
Instituted as a golfing society within the City of Perth in 1824, Royal Perth has been meeting the needs and aspirations of its members continuously for over 200 years.
The Club has moved on three occasions over the years, the last time being in 1876 when it acquired its present premises at 1, Atholl Crescent, with fine views over the historic North Inch (site of the Battle of the Clans in 1396) to the majestic River Tay beyond.
The Club’s premises provide comfortable dining and recreational facilities, with overnight accommodation which can also be booked on Airbnb.
Golf is still central to the ethos of the Club, which maintains a very full fixture list of matches against other golf Clubs and Societies in Scotland and further afield. Members also compete for a variety of medals and trophies, some of which date back to the founding of the Club. However, other sports and pastimes are now also major attractions – including clay shooting, bridge, walking, snooker and fishing. Social activities are equally prominent, with monthly evening talks on a variety of topics, a thriving Book Club and occasional events including fashion shows and craft evenings.
Convivial dining also lies at the heart of the Club, which is open for lunch daily from Tuesday to Friday. Sunday lunch takes place once a month and the Club can be booked for private events, on application – managers@rpgs.or.uk
